Description: This course is designed to help administrators, technology coordinators/coaches and teachers integrate 21st Century learning tools through 1:1 technology. The content is to assist schools considering 1:1 technology and those who have made the leap and need guidance to strengthen implementation.
Introduction to 1:1 Technology. Explore 1:1's impact on the learning environment and how it supports your school's vision. Examine cloud computing environments, management and educational tools provided in Google Apps, Microsoft and Apple platforms. Compare and evaluate device options evaluating cost, deployment, support and classroom functionality (laptops, tablets, Chromebooks, BYOD). Investigate preparation, roll out and professional development strategies.
DAY 1: Focus on 1:1 program design, deployment and integration.

Audit Option: Individuals who wish to attend only one day of training are welcome to audit the class for no credit.

2- Review online resources provided by instructors and curate a collection of resources to share with school stakeholders in the future

As you design and implement 1 to 1/ 1 to World. PLEASE remember it is not the device, the platform or the infrastructure that engages our students. It is the master teacher who uses pedagogy and best practices with the right tool at the right time that creates an engaging and empowering learning environment.

Standard 1: Visionary Leadership
Educator will contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive use of technology to support an engaging learning environment for all students.
Educator will contribute to the planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of a 1:1 implementation/strategic plan at the school and/or classroom levels.
Educator will advocate for one or more of the following: policies, procedures, programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school/class 1:1 technology plan and guidelines.
Standard 2: Teaching, Learning, & Assessments Technology
Educator will explore and curate a collection of digital tools which support: content standards, learner-centered instructional strategies, real world problem solving, collaboration, global communication, differentiation, creativity, and a range of formative and summative assessments.
Standard 3: Digital-Age Learning Environments/Culture
Educator will prepare materials to assist their school in the selection and evaluation of 1:1 digital devices, platforms, tools and resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure and will enhance the school's vision.
Educator will research and outline ways to maintain and manage digital tools and resources in the proposed 1:1 environment.
Standard 4: Professional Development & Program Evaluation
Educator will identify staff professional development strategies to implement and support 1:1 integration.
Educator will curate a collection of professional development resources.
Educator will identify options to evaluate professional development strategies and their impact on 1:1 integration and student learning
Standard 5: Digital Citizenship
Educator will identify components of a 1:1 implementation plan which address digital equity and facilitates safe, healthy, legal, and ethical uses of digital information and technologies.
Course Grading: Pass/Fail
